Prepping for P90x3

Man, am I out of shape. I knew I'd slacked off the last few months, but I didn't think I was as bad as I am.

Alex and I are gearing up for our P90 adventure, but realistically, we don't think we can start until the beginning of November. Alex has his PT test coming up, and he doesn't want to screw it up by starting a new fitness regiment right beforehand.

And we're going to London at the end of October. Meaning that Friday through Monday we wouldn't be working out. Sure, we could lug the DVDs and laptop with us, but we're going to be in the U.K. With 2 small children. Honestly, exercising is the furthest thing on my mind when I'm on vacation.

So workout out ain't gonna happen those 4 days.

And so the smartest route is to begin the minute we return, at the start of the month.

But that doesn't mean I'm going to slack off until then. Nothing says I can't start getting in shape now.

I found a neat circuit routine on Pinterst last night, and I gave it a shot this afternoon.

It seemed really simple.
Almost too simple to be effective.

And then I started it....

Dang. I am weak.

The entire workout goes as follows:

25 Jumping Jacks
10 Crunches
30 Second Plank
25 High Knees
7 Burpees
15 Crunches
10 Squats
5 Push Ups
10 Crunches
30 Second Plank
10 Squats
25 Jumping Jacks
10 Crunches
1 minute Wall Sit
5 Push Ups
25 High Knees
30 Second Plank

Do people actually do all that?
In one session?
Without breaks?

I've got my work cut out for me.

I managed to do the 25 jumping jacks, the 10 crunches, a 15 out of 30 second plank, 25 high knees, and 7 burpees.

Sans the push up part.

Pretty pathetic, I know.

My abs hurt.

My stomach muscles have been terrible since I had Evie. All the strength I built up while Alex was deployed went out the window the second I got pregnant. In fact, that's the last time I can really remember being active. That was when I finally managed to break through the wall and complete a 9:46 mile.

I mean, I walked twice a day during my pregnancy. After lunch and dinner for a total of about 1.25 miles. But I was so exhausted and big and PREGNANT that I didn't count that.

I'm almost embarrassed to post this result. Four years ago I was running 5Ks, climbing three flights of stairs to walk the dog, and just all around active. The move and the kids have really distracted me.
At least I still walk a lot. Not having a fenced yard for Buster is a blessing in disguise. I have to strap Evie in the Ergo and walk Buster around the neighborhood twice a day. On good days, I make a mile circuit, on bad days half a mile.

Better than nothing, but I am really ready to get back to my old self. I can't afford to buy a bunch of new pants this winter! (Not when I'm going to have to invest in something completely foreign to Yikes)

Here's hoping by next week I'll be better! (I'm going to do the fun weighing and measuring over the weekend.)
